Our philosophy is strongly based on Manaakitanga – Respect for tamariki, kaiako, whanau and the environment.

Tiaki provides a family home setting where children under five can come and develop a love of learning. Care of our environment is a strong focus within the centre as children and kaiako learn about conservation within our daily activities.

What makes Tiaki special?

A small centre with a limit of 30 children between the ages of three months and five years who play and learn with seven teachers/kaiako.

The numbers are small but the property is large. We have over an acre of land with gardens, chickens and lovely big trees.

Children will be involved in the growing and preparation of the food for their meals Nutritious morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea provided.

Children are not separated into age groups so that siblings can be together and younger children have the opportunity to learn from older children.

Sustainable conservation practices will be promoted so that our tamariki/children become aware of and involved in, ways to look after our environment at the centre, at home and in their communities.

High quality care and learning for all children.
